The Village Series

The village series consist of digital prints, objects, drawings, and the animation Three Sons. The objects include an ‘angry drum’ and an ‘Abidas Suit’ made in India from Sari fabric. This work is constantly developing. The series draws on notions of globalisation, East/West dynamics, economy, and portrays a bleak sense of a future flattened by digitally produced imagery.

Most of the images in the prints are sourced from events reported in the media, please see last image.

The Series in its entirety or parts was in the following shows : Khoj Residency; Delhi, PARANOIA; Leeds City Arts Gallery, Monstrous Tales; APT Gallery, Now More then Ever; Foxy Production, NYC, Solo Summer Show; Ben Uri Gallery, Make it a Better Place; Holden Gallery, Manchester.

In APT gallery Oreet Ashery and Stephen Wilson collaborated on the interactive performance Three Sons.
