Colored Folks

A collaboration with Shaheen Merali, the video charts a performative process following Oreet and Shaheen meetings over time at Brick Lane market in London, and at home. Oreet and Shaheen discuss the fantasy of her becoming a black man and him becoming a white woman. The video ends with a documentation from the Color Folks performance that took place in Toynbee Hall, 2002. CF was Part of Oreet’s Artsadmin Bursary.

*The make-up artist featured in this video Brixton Bradley had died in a cycling accident in 2006.
